Pastor's Thoughts VBS |
|
I’d like to give a HUGE “Thank You” to all those who helped out in VBS. It was a great success as we spent the entire week trying to face the footprints of Jesus. We averaged close to 110 children per night and nearly 40 adult and youth volunteers. Praise the Lord! The children (along with a few generous adults) brought in over $900 for the Kentucky Baptist Home for Children. The girls absolutely demolished the boys in the competitions, netting nearly ¾ of the total offering. Of our 40+ volunteers, I’d like to make special mention of a few. Nicole Adams did a wonderful job with music, leading the children in new songs that they performed on Friday night. She also did a lot of behind-the-scenes work. Barbara Orange and Regina Harrison were responsible for arts and crafts, including all the beautiful decorations in the sanctuary and hallways. They’ve been putting their heads together since late April. Linda Hill spent hours everyday pouring drinks and making snacks. She made PB+J, S’mores, and lots of Kool-Aid. Most of all, I thank everyone for taking a very long, tiring week to show God’s love to these children. By week’s end, each and every kid heard of God’s love and experienced God’s love. Your sacrifice does not go unnoticed by our Lord.
