Pastor's Thoughts

Sep 6 2009 Archive

Men and women all over the world have different needs. Some people have a great need for food. Obviously we need food to survive. Some people have a great need for companionship and friends. God has also put inside of us a need to socialize, love and be loved. There are hundreds of different needs. And it seems that whatever our need, we always seem to think that our current need is the most important.

“Fulfill” is defined as “to measure up to, to satisfy, to bring to an end, or to complete.” And sometimes we can fool ourselves into thinking that if we can just have this specific need fulfilled, then everything will be great! We’re looking for something to ‘measure up’, something to ‘satisfy’, or something that will make our life ‘complete.’

One thing we must understand is that no matter what our race, our nationality, our gender, our socio-economic status, our age, every human being on this earth has the same need. Every person’s greatest need in this world is: To Know Christ

Look this morning at how Christ ‘measures up’, ‘satisfies’, ‘brings to an end’ and ‘completes.’
